Project365

The concept of “365”, or one-photo-a-day-for-a-year, is nothing new. Many have done it before, quite a few have been successful ((completed the year with a increased/improved/altered portfolio)) in their endeavour and many have probably failed.

I want to try it for 2015, first and foremost as a contract with myself, as a daily task, something to make into a routine. I don’t know where this contract will take me. Hopefully, it will be a nudge to play more with my camera(s), to be more alert when around.

I will use photos both from my newly aquired Fujifilm X-E1, my Olympus OM-D EM5, my phone and perhaps some of the older equipment as well.

The ground rule: to publish one photo per day in 2015. They will all be publised over at Flickr.

I am also pleased to see that Stephen Hacket, the guy that first introduced me to “365” a couple of years ago is at it again.

Happy new year!

  1. I used the Project 365 app all through 2011. I was very diffucult to export my whole year as a PDF. It crashed when trying to export more than a month of images. I got in touch with the developer Alvin Yu and he was working in it at the time. The disappointment made me end the whole project. Maybe it’s time to have another go? Only if the app is working properly this time.

    1. Oh, that sounds like a huge dissappointment, one that would really hold you off from doing anything like that again… From the looks of it, it seems like he’s updated the 7kr «pro»-version of the app, but I really don’t know… If you want to get it all done within the ecosystem of an app, do you know of the Day One-app? I use that to journal the kids’ quotes, seems like ut would be able to do the same thing?

    2. Another thing: I guess most people doing a 365 in 2015 are doing it on Instagram. For some reason, that did’t occur to me as an option before i checked the #project365 on Twitter late last night. Should probably spend some time to consider «why»…
